Mental health includes our emotional,  psychological and social well-being. It affects how we feel, think and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress,  relations with others and make choices. It is the state of  well being in which every individual realises his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, productively and fruitfully.

Envisioning a world where mental health is valued, promoted and protected ,we at mpspn preen our efforts and adopt best practices to improve and enhance mental health of our students.

• One to one councelling of children: Children with special needs may have anxiety disorder, attention deficit, hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder , dyslexia, hearing , visual and other learning disabilities. The school counselor  joined hands with special educator and identified such children and undertook rigorous councelling session to shun such disorders. The work is still on.

• In House Celebrations and Morning Assembly: To promote team spirit and a sense of belongingness to school, we  ensure equal participation of students from all four houses viz. Abhimanyu House, Dhruva House, Eklavya House and Prahlad House in In-house activities weekly for their all round development.

• With an intent to inculcate life skill, holistic health and well being , we organise special morning assemblies and celebrate all significant days viz  Armed Forces Day, Youth Week , Mental Health Day, Parakram Diwas, NCC Day etc in school.

• Listen to children’s concerns: As teachers, it is essential to listen to students' concerns and demonstrate understanding as well as empathy. Our  Educators offer students the opportunity to have a one-to-one conversation with them to reconnect and discuss any concerns.

• We run empowered Boys and Girls' guild to attend to their needs under the guidance of their incharges.

• Keep a watchful eye on children’s performance: Teachers get in touch with the academic progress of a child before introducing a new topic. They try to connect the concept with live examples and 

share experiences.

• Engage children in constructive activities: 

Teachers Seek help of children and decorate the soft board of their  class with  colourful and welcoming messages.  Praises and appreciation such as Saturday Award, Star of the class, best reader, can keep them going  of  and  fetch desired outcomes. 

• Watch out for any warning signs of child behaviour that interferes with their ability to explore, play and learn: Teachers are  attentive to changes in children's behaviours. If any significant change is noticed or it persists over a time, preventive measures are  adopted without any further delay. Teachers provide lots of support if they feel a child is struggling. 

• Model good coping behaviours for students –

Educators need to be calm, honest, and caring, and should demonstrate  a positive attitude to children so that they too learn to cope with situation and learn to deal with stress.

To infuse the child with the spirit of camaraderie, cohesion and, at mps Pratap Nagar House System is devised. Each child from grade 1 is allotted a house and is gradually introduced to the ethos of the institution.

The students of the school are grouped in separate houses and each house is monitored  by a house in charge along with other teacher members of the house. The four houses are named as Abhimanyu House, Dhruv House, Eklavya House and Prahlad House.

Promoting a sense of belonging and teamwork each house has a house Captain,  Vice-captain at senior and junior level respectively. Every house has a house color and a motto to which students endeavour to live up to.

The House System provides excellent opportunities for student leadership and peer group support. Aided by dedicated staff members, and house captains, it is a remarkable medium for enabling students of different ages to bond together and operate as a cohesive family.

At mps , a common goal of building a sense of unity and enriching as a team, all houses strive to inculcate the most mindful values amid students. This is achieved through various inter-house activities in sports, cultural and co- curricular areas.

Each house takes a weekly turn to conduct morning assembly, setting up the school Bulletin board and taking part in school functions. They compete with each other in various activities on weekly basis.

It helps in developing positive self-esteem and value of the ethos of the School community. It also gives opportunities to the students to realize every individual’s full potential by participating in various Inter House competitions whether in Academics, Sports or Co- curricular activities.

The co-curricular activities enrich, broaden and round off the experiences of our students and help them to learn lifelong skills necessary for a rapidly changing society. The healthy competition between Houses allows students to work as a team aiming for the success of the House in all challenges, activities and competitions to finally win the coveted trophy for ‘Best House’ and ‘Best House in Activities’.

A school facilitates education which is just not completing the curriculum but the values we learn during our school days and grow up as an individual prepare us to tackle the real world. Students in a school come from a wide cross-section of the society(caste, creed, economic status). Here they learn to co-exist , respect each other and above all they inculcate the virtue of tolerance. They learn to t observe patience and compassion in their daily dealings at a very tender age. This facilitates them to adjust well within the society as the society cannot work without cooperation.

Likewise, students in schools learn that they cannot progress until they value the spirit of teamwork and collaboration. Here they participate in a variety of group activities where they learn the very important skill of teamwork and collaboration. Along with this we cannot forget to mention another important life skill to thrive in a society ,i.e., while living in a community, you need to practice discipline, orderliness and respect for laws and regulations. And this is automatically inculcated in the behaviour of children as in school they are guided by a skilled authority and their rules and regulations and if children misbehave they are punished making them understand the importance of laws and rules.

As an ex mpsite I feel proud and blessed that I got such a beautiful platform to learn and practice all these skills. I could remember how well mps is at moulding students personality . The learning interaction and bond between students and teachers is still a beautiful memory for me.I enjoyed the morning assemblies where we not only prayed to God but also learnt a lot new skills through stories told by our respected Principal ma'am.

MPS for me is so welcoming, so inviting, and so comfortable that i believe every person who walks through its door belives they are about to have an amazing experience.My school breathes in my conduct now. The lessons I gained here, the atmosphere which shaped my personality , altogether have influenced my conduct and behaviour in positive ways.

By going local, by respecting Indian culture and history, by following and knowing Indian glorious past discoveries, we could mark a strong impact on globe and boost our Economy as well.

    “School as a miniature society prepares you for global world”

 Since class 2nd to 10th I studied in   New Modern Public School, , a small  English medium school.  

Thereafter I joined Maheshwari Public School, Pratap Nagar, Jaipur. One of the most prestigious school of the city. Naturally, the level of pressure to adjust in the new environment was at its height. But the ever supporting teachers helped me a lot to meet all the challenges. I was glad to take admission here.

Everybody says that the time spent with old friends always remains the best part of your life. As a new student I experienced great friendship and awesome and best supportive teachers.

(Ms. Prachi maam ‘As a class teacher’, Ms. Ruchi ma’am ‘Maths teacher’ and Ms. Manju ma’am ‘Accounts teacher’) and many other teachers. The only place where I got to understand my future life goals for self growth and in return to society as well. The level of education and life skills I learnt here, gave a new pathway for my future goals. 

Mps paves the way to become CA. The only reason I decided to be a CA is the clarity of concept I gained here (My love towards practical subjects). It gave wings to my dreams. I was very grateful and thankful from the deepest core of my heart to all loving and caring teachers.

Almost one and a half year has elapsed since I completed my school education and stepped into the real global world which we used to study only in our textbooks only. Here I realized how school acted as a miniature society which prepared me for this global world. As a school student we all are unaware about what we will go through in real world because we grow in a safe environment under the shelter and guidance of our teachers and mentors. School prepares a strong foundation which helps us to build successful future. Not only education but also etiquettes, manners, sense of humour, analytical skills, will power, sense of responsibility and many other skills got developed in those golden days which pave the way to face struggles and problems in outside world. The sense of competition which we develop in school days help us to face competition outside school. All students study under a single roof forgetting about castes, races, religion and a sense of unity in society gets developed between them. There is no discrimination of any type which shapes mentality of students in positive way. One may find teachers strict and may hate going to school but one day he will definitely be grateful to school when he gets the outcome of school learning. Schools do not have elevators for students because it wants its student to learn importance of stairs. Similarly, there is no short route to success in real world, one has to use each step of staircase. Any combination of 26 letters would be insufficient to thank our teachers and schools for the bright vision they have provided us to find our way in befogged environment in global world.

A school is the first place where we encounter diversity of society, it's th    re stepping stone of our life. Schools have always been said to prepare students for challenges that they face later in their lives. 

Now  I believe that school offers every opportunity to prepare students for the real world but the difference of preparedness comes from the student. When someone puts their head down to achieve their goals by themselves, as  an independent adult, their outcome will reflect what they learned in school. Every time a teacher pushes us to score better it's not just for  a "100" on report card but it was her or his way of telling that they are laying a strong foundation for our future life. In my view school has generated in me a habit  of making  a schedule and sticking to it . Just like we have to get up and go to school everyday, similarly we have to get up and go to work everyday even when we don't feel like it. School taught me time management  and boosted my   confidence to deal with conflicts and performing better and better and not to quit. As for an example when we played a team sport it taught us how to deal with different personalities and types of people and  built confidence and when we lost, it made us stronger to beat down failure to victory next time. School has given me experience and made me improve my ability to make judgements and take action.

              What I got from my legacy “MPS”?

I feel immensely privileged that I was a part of MPS family. Everyone at MPS has a heart for students, and they have the knowledge and institutional memory to help us navigate the system to accomplish our goals. With all kinds of resources, information and supportive teachers, MPS helped me learn and grow in as well as outside of the classroom.  Teachers engage us with different strategies of teaching to keep us motivated and to make us a better version of ourselves. Along with gaining knowledge, I also developed leadership and communication skills and overcame my various insecurities during my time at MPS. My experience at MPS also enabled me to bravely take up intellectually challenging tasks in the future. 

I feel so much more heard and motivated as a student because of MPS!

Despite the early morning schedule, school was our gateway to a wonderful new home without family drama and what not. Everyone wore the same uniform, had equal opportunities, and most importantly, friendships made were heartfelt.

If someone asked me what I have learned from my school, I won’t be able to answer it in one sentence. For the lessons are irreplaceable and I can never be thankful enough for them. I learned to share because of my school. 

Friendships are most likely the first thing your mind runs to when reminiscing high school – timeless memories, both silly and solemn, flooding in, like wiping out some letters to make funny new words when the teacher left the board un-erased; finding innovative excuses for homework not done; the forbidden thrill of eating tiffin or chewing gum during class; paperball fights; passing notes when the teacher made you sit separately; scribbling God-knows-what on desks and so on.

Then there are the billion other memories outside class: sharing the adrenaline rush during basketball practice/tournaments; blowing up that crystal experiment at chem lab; or just lounging in comfortable silence at the library.

As these seemingly insignificant moments passed by routinely, all of a sudden adult life happened. There was no longer a reason to see friends every day, share tiffin, and nag that straight A friend for treats. Even when you DO organise reunions, some can't make it because they've flown thousands of miles away for university. That's when it hits – how these moments ultimately make school unforgettably meaningful – and you can't help but feel poignant.

Today when I look and think what legacy my school has given me, nostalgia pops up followed by tears of joy and remembrance.

MPS has given me countless memories, thousand lessons and most importantly a direction in life.

Also, Do you think that I will end this speech without acknowledging our teachers? Well, that is simply impossible. Dear teachers, what we are today is because of you.

Furthermore, the knowledge that you imparted to us is one of the most valuable things in our lives. This knowledge that you gave us will be our weapon for the life ahead. Respected teachers, you occupy a very high status in the life of every student.

Rest assured, one thing is for sure :-I shall always be a part of the school and the school shall always be a part of me.

We all came as kids who felt unsafe and invisible,  who were in constant confusion but the teachers at Maheshwari public school (writing the name of this institution gave me chills) encouraged me and told me that I’m capable and worthy enough to achieve anything I set my eyes for and everything I aspire for.

Over the twelve years I spent at this wonderful school, I’ve grown into a person who is now more attentive of the different people , opinions and cultures that surround me and this in turn has allowed me to become more open minded.

Memories have been the part and parcel of my life much like everyone else. We remember the good days which have gone by and the bad ones as well . I remember being appointed as Captain and receiving the title of best dancer and I also remember the kind piece of advice by Vice principal ma’am and both of them has their equal importance in my life. A student knows the importance of school life and considers it as their golden period of life . At least I do . And why should it not be? It is the first truly impactful thing in one’s life and the importance of it can never be denied.

Some of  the early and most important lessons you imbibe in yourself being a student at MPS are tenacity, leadership, respect, cooperation and integrity .I still remember how Principal ma’am used to share an inspirational story every day in assembly during examination and somehow it always managed to endow a ray of hope in me .

 Now being in a college which I achieved due to help and support of my teachers who helped me learn from my mistakes and acknowledge my potential, I remember the days when we shared both our pleasures and sorrows together and where we used to rely on each other and now that all my classmates are too carrying the legacy forward .

Back then I used to hate practical exams and vivas where we had to present our projects in front of entire class but now as I realize the importance they carry in our lives . Those scary Vivas were basically our very first platform to share our thoughts and instill a doze of confidence in ourselves .

If someone asks me what legacy I got from this school I won’t be able to answer it in one sentence.  For the lessons are irreplaceable and I can never be thankful enough for them .
